Ilona Ivanova is a multi-talented Bulgarian performer in the field of Musical theater and Soundtrack music. She’s equally experienced in singing both musical and operetta, while also showing great dancing and stunt skills, bright stage presence, acting and charisma. She’s both comfortable live on stage, behind the microphone in the studio or in front of the camera as an actress. For 10 years now she’s a resident soloist of the National Musical Theater – Sofia, Bulgaria.
Some of her famous roles include Betty Schaefer from “Sunset Boulevard”, Tzeitel – “Fiddler on the roof”, Countess Stasi in the famous operetta “The Queen of Czardas”, Liza in the “Countess Mariza” and Valencienne in the operetta “Merry Widow”. She is also experienced in performing on stilts and playing piano.
Ilona is part of “Disney Voices International” as the voice of the Bulgarian Mary Poppins in the famous Disney movie “Mary Poppins Returns” as well as the voice of “Pocahontas” in the Bulgarian dubbed versions of both first and second movie. She has recorded many trailers, backing vocals and small roles for Disney movies.
In 2017 she’s part of “The voice of Bulgaria” and after seeing her performance the composer Borislav Slavov invites her to audition for “Baldur’s Gate 3” solo vocalist. Their duet song “I Want to Live” has a very interesting story - recorded for just one session at their first meeting, this song from the game is a finalist in the 12 th Hollywood music in media awards in 2021 in the category of “Original song in video game”.
In Baldur’s Gate 3, Ilona is performing also the song of Alfira – “Weeping Dawn”, as well as the credits song called “The Power” and one of the Dream songs.
Ilona has performed live with several orchestras in Bulgaria, Macedonia and UK. Aside of her main work Ilona is experienced in the organization of events/music festivals, teaching vocal technique and supporting animal charity called “Animal Help Mezdra”.
